NEW SINGLE!!!

Greetings all! We are finally back and with big news: After spending the past few months writing/recording new material at various studios PAGAN is releasing our new single via the Matchbox Recording/Universal Music comp "Tour De Force: Two". The track will make its radio debut in the coming weeks on Matchbox Radio 24. TV promo spots for the release will begin airing on MTV(!) soon. The disc will be available @ all major retailers world wide. Be sure to pick it up, or download PAGAN's track from iTunes.

NEW PAGAN ALBUM FIRST DETAILS!!!

While the album is still in the early writing/recording stages, there are a few details I can share with you now. The title of the album is "On Black Wings", and it will be available on CD, vinyl & in digital formats (sorry 8-Track fans) world wide in early 2009. The album will feature songs with vocal arrangements alongside more ambient fare. A number of surprise guests will be making appearances in various capacities. There will be more details on that soon. The disc will also put more emphases on live instruments than past releases have. The main departure will be in the form of the dark & very person lyrics. This will not be for the faint of heart, and will be the first release under the PAGAN moniker to bear the "parental advisory" label.

PAGAN LIVE RITUALS DVD & 7" UPDATE!

"Live Rituals" the first DVD from PAGAN is being compiled now. The disc will feature live performances of the bands standards with full stage production. Features and ordering info are on the way. PAGAN's split 7" with Fainting Goat is being mastered now, and will be unleashed very shortly from our friends at Runic Records.

SMOKERS FIRST PICS & DVD DETAILS!

Here are some pics from our upcoming release "Smokers", including a shot of the late Gorge Putman. We intended to attempt contacting Putman this weekend to see if he was interested in contributing to the DVD's special featutres. We are taking his death as a "no thanks". The "Smokers" DVD is being pressed by Philadelphia based Mirror Image Duplication. It will be widely distributed via the magic of the internet as well. Either way be sure to see it!

NOTE: Our thoughts are with the family & fiends of George Putman. The DVD release will be dedicated to him.

Better grab yourself a drink/smoke, because this is going to be along one folks. First off I just want to quickly mention that our friend DJ Ferret can be seen in HBO's new vampire documentary "True Bloodlines: A New Type", talking about the Ball & everyones fav flick "The Lost Boys". The special is timed to promote the networks "Southern Vampire" adaptation "True Blood". Check your local listings, or watch it on demand.

If you have been keeping up with Tyler Derk's blog, you know that he was involves in a serious car wreck last weekend. The team PAGAN injury report doesn't stop there: Blade Thornton has undergone a second bone related surgery. I wish them both a swift recovery and heavy doses of medication.

The trailer for our upcoming film "Smokers" was officially banned by YouTube (after reching 600+ views) this morning for violating "community standards". Meanwhile you can still watch and download the clip from Google Video (currently holds a 5 star rating). A "clean" trailer will be posted on MySpace, YouTube & Google Video shortly. This isn't the first time this team has be banned for our antics and it won't be the last!

LIVE AS...

A very, VERY limited edition live CD titled "Live As Fuck" will be released in the coming months by MCB Entertainment. This release will feature solo performances by yours truly of PAGAN material, score music & more. The disc, which will boast deluxe packaging, will also be peppered with guest appearances. "Smokers" is now officially in post production! I expect the final film to hit the web very soon, and we will post the first few mins. for viewing (and downloading for iPod & PSP) by next week. Victoria Preiss has joined the cast as a last minute addition. Details of her character & pics are on the way, but rest assured she will fall under the blade of the bunny. Speaking of our titular slasher, Tyler Derk has stepped down as the man behind the mask, leaving the role temporally vacant. We expect someone to fill his paws before the week is out.

Camden, NJ based rapper CUB is currently working on his debut mixtape, which I'm producing, titled "Hood Rebel". More details soon.

TOMMY ON TOUR!

"Evil Bong" star Tommy Chong will join Cheech Marin for a Live Nation promoted Cheech & Chong reunion dubbed the "Hey, What's That Smell?" tour. This will be the multiplatinum groups first tour in 25 years. "Evil Bong" is available on DVD from the Bright Side store.

FALL/WINTER RELEASES

In August MCB Entertainment will release the compilation CD "Trinity" featuring PAGAN's 3 digital EP's plus 3 bonus tracks. August will also see the release of PAGAN's full length soundscape album "Song of The Morning Star". Both discs will feature special vinyl style packaging, and also be available in an extremely limited run on hard coat 24k gold discs in kick out cases. In September Runic Records will release a limited split 7" featuring PAGAN and The Fainting Goat. In October a FREE Halloween single will be released via our various web sites, with another holiday single to follow in December. Also be sure to look for another new PAGAN track in an upcoming issue of Terrorizer.

HIGH-DEF ZOMBIE

Mortally wounded after one of its major studio supporters switched sides, the HD DVD format was abandoned and left for dead by developer Toshiba, crowning Blu-Ray the victor by default. Months have passed and manufactures has been struggling to adapt as Sony's spawn, and still best reason to own a PS3, has proven a costly and time consuming prospect. Then just as the blu beast launched in China, Shanghai United Optical Disc resurrected its arch nemesis. Newly christened CBHD (China Blue High-Definition Disc) the shambling zombie* of HD DVD will face off against Blu-Ray in one final round. While few expect an upset, this format war has proven to be the most dramatic yet. I just hope that the fans are ultimately the winners.

*I liked 28 Days later as much as you, but any true horror fan respects the classics.

Jeff Otto, of Boris Garcia, has finished filming his role as the burnout screenwriter of Easter Egg Hunt. His scene also features a cameo by Juan, a skeleton in a poncho and sombrero.

TERRORIZER

Ads for Runic Records releases will be appearing in upcoming issues of "Terrorizer" magazine, along with tracks from their artists (including PAGAN) appearing on "Terrorizer" compilation CD's.

SMOKERS TRAILER

The first trailer for "Smokers" will debut this coming week in green and red band versions. The red band version will contain some nudity. The film is a short documentary showcasing stag films from the 1920's through the 1970's. Like "Slasher", it will be released without an MPAA rating to avoid censorship issues.

THE FAINTING GOAT

A limited split 7" featuring PAGAN & The Fainting Goat (formerly Frost Giant) will be released by Runic Records in September. This record will no doubt quickly become an underground classic, so be sure to grab a copy as soon as it drops.

PAGAN IN THE STUDIO!

PAGAN has completed a track for an upcoming 7" split to be released on Runic Records. Today a new song, composed with Mario Paint(!), was completed. Look for that track to surface soon. The bands first 3 EP's will be available at Future File Sharing at the end of the week, with the "Trinity" comp and soundscape LP available August. A free Halloween single will be released in October, and will feature a very special guest artist!

VIDEO GAMES

In addition to offering some of PAGAN's music to developers for use in independent games, MCB Entertainment will soon begin developing games of our own for PC, iPod Touch & PSP. Genre and style will vary from title to title, but you can expect a strong emphasis retro gaming. More info next week.

SLASHER: THE ALBUM!

Brian Greenzang and myself spoke with one of our manufacturing partners today, and I can confirm that the soundtrack to my new film "Slasher" will be released to digital outlets and on special credit style cards (officially titled "Get It Now" cards) each with a unique code on the back to download the complete album. There may also be strictly limited custom flash drives and MP3 players. Artist roster will be posted shortly.

AMATEUR PORN STAR KILLER

The third entry in director Shane Ryan's "Amateur Porn Star Killer" series will arrive this Halloween in two unique forms. The first is a straight forward continuation of the brutal snuff styled videos fans have come to expect. The other, dubbed "Amateur Porn Star Killer 3D", is a parody of the series. As the title suggests, the latter film is in 3D! More on these projects very soon.

BRIAN GREENZANG

Brian Greenzang has joined the production team of "Slasher". He is already hard at work on the film which is set for a Fall release. Major updates will be posted next week about planned bonus material, but expect Brian to participate in a commentary track.

JIM GALLAGHER

Noted producer, engineer, and songwriter Jim Gallager is appearing in my new movie "Slasher" as a film producer who is more concerned with money than the quality of his output. In reality Jim is the complete opposite, and his attention to detail comes across on his latest album "All About Love". I provided screams for the jam track "Under The Radar", which has cleared 100,000 plays at the PAGAN MySpace page. Check out Jim's site for more about the man and his music.

THE HORROR VAULT & CRAIG

"The Horror Vault" is available now on DVD at the Bright Side Productions store. A sequel is in production now. "Craig" is also available as an unrated region 1 disc. EVIL BONG

Full Moon Features is producing a sequel to "Evil Bong", titled "King Bong", which they will be promoting on this years roadshow. I am not involved with this film in any way, nor am I currently attached to any of the companies other projects. My film work will be focused primarily around Bright Side Productions projects from this point foreword. Look for the BSP debut "Slasher" in the coming months, and check out our webstore for copies of the original Evil Bong and the other films I have been a part of.

FREASH BLOOD FOR PAGAN

A new member has joined the ranks of my primary music project PAGAN. Tyler Derk, my partner in Bright Side Productions, will now handle live percussion duties. This is Tylers debut in a national touring band, and I'm very excited that he is joining the fold. He really hit the ground running, working closely with me on promotional material and merch for the '08 tour. This marks the first time someone else has been entrusted to create artwork for the band, and Tyler did not disappoint. He will be featured on our as yet untitled live album due this fall. HELLHAMMER

I have been a metalhead since early childhood, so it goes without saying that I became school girl giddy when I stumbled across the Hellhamer compilation "Demon Entrails" during a recent stroll through FYE(!). If you don't know who Hellhammer were you need a serious lesson in music history. Before inspiring a generation of musicians (including not so metal bands Nirvana & HIM) with the revered Celtic Frost, Thomas Gabriel Fischer fronted this raw proto black/thrash outfit. This 2 disc set includes the bands "Satanic Rites", "Death Fiend" & "Triumph Of Death" demos remastered and packaged in a vinyl styled gatefold. While I'm a big supporter of digital distribution as both an artist and fan, the nature of the material and presentation are better served here with a physical release.
